Macarrón
Characteristics
Story
Macarrón is a small, slender caramel-coloured podenco of about 8 months whose story began by the side of a road. He was found by neighbours alongside another female dog. While she looked relatively healthy, Macarrón was extremely thin and in worrying condition.
When they scanned for a microchip, his travel companion had good news: she had a family looking for her. Macarrón did not belong to that home and nobody claimed him. That is how he came to the shelter.
His condition was so fragile he had to be hospitalised on arrival. He was emaciated, severely malnourished and in urgent need of care. Fortunately he responded well to treatment, began eating eagerly and returned much recovered, ready to start a new life.
Despite everything he has been through, Macarrón is very young. He is somewhat wary of the unknown, but not submissive. He allows handling without issue, though he does not yet actively seek contact or cuddles. He needs time to build trust and discover that people can bring good things too.
Macarrón now waits for the happy ending he deserves: a patient, loving family who will let him progress at his own pace.
